Shut down your email!

Is email sapping your time?

Are you getting shed-loads of non-urgent & non-important emails that someone else could deal with?

Are you subscribed to lots of marketing emails & newsletters that you never read anymore?

Are you staying on their lists “just in case” you might get something useful from it?

Here’s a controversial thought:  Shut down your email…

Let’s put that in context.

You set aside 1 hour a day between 3-4pm to deal with emails.

You set up an auto-responder on your email to let people know that you only deal with emails between these times.

This is important as people expect an instant response nowadays to emails & get upset if they don’t receive one.

You also tell them that if they need to contact you with something genuinely urgent & important then they can call you.

By the time you respond to the email, the ones that aren’t important will normally have resolved themselves.

You can also set up a Delegate with most email systems, where an assistant can read & respond to emails on your behalf.
