I’ll be completely honest, I suck at gardening!

We had an ugly fence at the back of our garden. But it was owned by the neighbours, so we couldn’t take it down or replace it.

So we decided to hide it behind a huge climbing rose tree.

The only problem was – we didn’t have one. So we bought a tiny plant.

And instead of hoping that it would grow in the right direction, we put guidewires all over the fence.

We had a vision & a plan for this small rose bush. We didn’t then leave the growth of our rose to chance, or think it would grow where we wanted it on it’s own.

We went out on a weekly basis & carefully threaded the rose through the guide wires to ensure it went where we wanted.

On some occasions it grew too quickly in the wrong direction.  So we had to prune it back. At times it was frustrating.

It didn’t seem to be growing fast enough. Over the last few years though it flourished.   This is so like business.

Growth takes time, planning & guidance. Sometimes painful pruning.

And it’s hard to see your business getting where you want it to be… until you look back at all the progress you’ve made & see the beauty of your creation.
