Back in the office getting ready for my first coaching sessions of 2018 and reflecting on my year as a coach in 2017 – which I thought I’d share.

Like any other small business, being a coach has all the same challenges of the emotional roller coaster that is otherwise known as being self-employed – but despite the challenges, for me it has been the most satisfying work I have ever done – and that it down to the witnessing some of the great results that my clients have achieved over the past 12 months.

The most common reason for clients working with me in 2017 was to regain time – business owners who had successful businesses but felt that for too long they had been making too big a personal commitment  and wanted help to make a change.

That was not what I expected when I started coaching – I thought it would be more about profit growth – although that is still a strong second place!

The book I have most frequently handed out to my clients is Leadership and the One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard – if you have a team and haven’t read it then I recommend you do – or give me a call and I’ll explain how it can help you get your team working better for you. Happy 2018!
