I was introduced to ourAction Coach by one of their Clients and to be honest I was very sceptical about whether coaching could work for me, whether I could justify the cost and whether I could find the time to meet with the coach. I really didn’t like the idea of somebody coming in and telling me how to run my business.

My coach assured me that I was the expert in the business and that coaching was simply about helping me get better results, but with less effort – at no time would he be telling me how to run my business.

Right from the off my coach and I agreed that progress would be made through “baby steps” as I needed to be confident the changes I was making were correct and I was still super busy.

The results over the first 12 months have been brilliant.  We’ve seen turnover increase by 29% but the best news is that profits are up by 40% – that is down to salary savings on staff who were unproductive, reduced advertising spend following the appointment of a highly effective marketing specialist and improved sales following the appointment of an excellent sales executive and a review of the sales process.

The biggest win for me is the amount of time I have spent out on events is down by 50% – last year I worked most weekends and I was out at events late at least twice during the week.

In the past 12 months, Becky and I have I had the first 2-week holiday in years, and we’ve been able to enjoy a number of long weekends away.

Deciding to work with a coach was simply about making a massive investment in myself – a bit like taking an MBA in business. . Without the weekly focus on the business and the key actions implemented, I really don’t think we would have made so much progress. We’re only 12 months in but already the results have been life changing for me. We covered the investment a number of times over through increased profit but more importantly, for the first time in years I have choice over how I spend my time and at the same time the business has absolutely thrived.

I also had time to create clarity over the future we want to create – we are working towards a 3-year plan that again is all about how Becky and I want to live our lives in the future.
