Do you like to be the best, or just have fun – or do you like to do both?
How would you like to play a board game, help raise money for a fabulous local charity AND test out your business growth skills all at the same time? If that sounds right up your street, read on!
On 22nd March we’ll be hosting a fundraising event in support of Wetwheels Yorkshire.
This is where we’ll be playing our business board game, “Leverage”. The game requires you to get out your competitive spirit, place your faith in the cards that are dealt you, use your business decision making skills and test your resilience.* The winner is the first person who gets to grow a real business – a commercial profitable business that works without you having to be there. (Who wouldn’t want one of those?!)
There will be 6 board games available and 6 people can play a game. So tickets are limited to just 36! Click here to get your tickets
Each winner will receive a prize!
I’ve chosen to support the Wetwheels Foundation charity in my business because to me it represents a vital quality in the human spirit that is so crucial in life and in business, that of overcoming the adversities that come our way to create a positive outcome.
Wetwheels Foundation supports our local Wetwheels Yorkshire which brought a Wetwheels powerboat to our coast last year. The boat is a specially adapted, fully accessible catamaran that allows wheelchair access and so offers disabled people the opportunity to go out to sea. Since its launch in June 2018 a thousand people have enjoyed the thrill of a trip out to sea including people who have previously been excluded due to disability.
Wetwheels was founded by Geoff Holt MBE, DL who is himself confined to a wheelchair. Geoff’s story is truly inspirational and is what attracted me to the charity. He broke his neck as a young man and subsequently created something massively positive that he loves out of this extreme adversity that has a significant impact on the lives of others, disabled and able bodied alike.
We all have stories of times of adversity in our lives – not necessarily as profoundly life changing as Geoff’s experience – when we have succeeded in creating a positive outcome, in particular in our business.
The Wetwheels Yorkshire boat has been brought to our North Yorkshire coast through the imagination and determination of Wetwheels Yorkshire chairman Pete Richardson who will be with us at our fundraising evening.
All crew on our Wetwheels Yorkshire boat are volunteers. But it costs £500 per day to run the boat. While some of the cost is met by those going out on the boat, donations help with financial accessibility for those who could not otherwise enjoy the event. So all profit raised on the evening will go directly to Wetwheels Foundation charity to support the work of Wetwheels Yorkshire.
I’m delighted that our host on the evening will be the very awesome YO1 radio DJ Dougie Weake.
The evening will also include raffle prizes donated by local businesses, a silent auction and lots of fun!
The ticket price includes a finger buffet and there will, of course, be a licensed bar available.
This is going to be a fabulous event. But places are limited so please don’t hang about. Get in touch now to buy your ticket or click here. Why not make this a business team event and come as a group?
Really looking forward to seeing you there. Click here to get your tickets.
*Full instructions will be given on the evening. But come to our “6 Steps to a Successful Business” workshop on 7th March for a more indepth understanding of the game’s systems before our fundraising evening (and maybe gain an unfair advantage J). Click here for more information.
