Far too many Business Owners spend the majority of their precious time working in, not on their commercial enterprise. Even the most experienced do it. They become Specialists by preference and therefore immediately limit their potential to learn and grow. This impacts the business. It’s a blind spot for many.
When the Owner fails to be a Generalist by learning new skills and attaining more knowledge the business becomes a rudderless ship and victim to the changing current.
Learn something new every day, become knowledgeable about uncertain things. Resist ” Educational Incapacity” when things are going well. Since success can make you blind to new learnings and new ways of thinking.
As Jim Rohn stated,
“Start working harder on yourself than you do on the job“.
Learn to be a Generalist and take control of your rudder and the ship.
