When people find out what I do their first response is often, ‘I know a business thats struggling, I’ll put you in touch”… My response? “Its ok thanks”
I take businesses that are already “good” and by working with the business owners and their teams help make them “great” businesses.
If you could be Great rather than Good what would your business look like, what would it need to do, say, what people would be working there, what customers would you supply, what would your financials look like and how would you be spending your week?
When businesses are great they do a lot of things really well, there is a consistency about them, the business owner has a real freedom of choice about how they “invest” not “spend” their time. They can decide when and if they want to be there. Being great demands a different approach, not just doing whats needed but gong that bit extra. As Dave Brailsford from British cycling put it its about marginal gains. An almost fanatical attention to doing lots of thing simultaneously, a bit better, they then accumulate into significant wins.
So if you know a struggling business that want s a business coach, perhaps point them into direction of someone else. If they are Good though… you know what to do.
