We find ourselves in unprecedented times and the Covid-19 Pandemic is escalating here in the UK at alarming rates.
Following the Prime Minister’s announcement last night I’ve been inundated with questions about what it means for you and your businesses as there was very little specific detail in his broadcast. Already social media is flooded with wide-ranging opinion.
However, we’ve found the attached government release from last night which perhaps gives some clarification:
It’s only my interpretation but it would suggest to me that other than those businesses / activities specifically listed other businesses can carry on trading. For instance even with the closure of High Street shops, online businesses will still need warehouse staff and delivery drivers to operate; people will still plumbers & electricians; people will still need bus drivers to get to the supermarket etc.
Beyond this we all need to remain sensible and cautious and we should all run our businesses from home, where at all possible.
My aim is therefore to continue to support my clients and anyone that needs some help or advice, albeit with video & telephone coaching sessions only. This is already working extremely well and proving highly productive even for those (me included) that for many years hated the idea!
