Moving Your Business Forward
Moving Your Business Forward
What would you dare to do that would move everything forward if you knew you wouldn’t fail?
That’s the question I posed to a group of business owners during a business alignment session last Friday. It was the final question of eight that we explored together, and it turned out to be the most powerful one of all.
Every business owner in that room had different goals and challenges. But when asked this question “What would you dare to do that would move everything forward if you knew you wouldn’t fail?”, there was a moment of silence. Then reflection. Then energy. Because deep down, most of us know what the answer is.
The only thing holding us back? Fear.
Over years of coaching business owners, I’ve seen a recurring pattern: people have incredible potential, but fear keeps them from fully stepping into it. Fear that they’re not good enough. Fear that they’ll fall short. Fear that others will see them fail.
But here’s the truth: fear is often just false expectations appearing real. We convince ourselves that we can’t. We build imaginary barriers based on assumptions, not facts. And we give those fears power, when, in reality, we are more than capable.
When you ask yourself that bold question, you challenge those false beliefs. You open a door to possibility. And if you allow yourself to explore what it would take, rather than immediately thinking why it won’t work, you begin to create real momentum.
Personally, I’ve faced moments where I dared to ask that same question. The goals scared me at first, but with a plan and the support of those around me, I achieved them. And every time, the fear faded once action began.
So take a moment today and ask yourself:
What would you dare to do that would move everything forward if you knew you wouldn’t fail?
Write it down. Reflect. And most importantly, start building your plan.
