What does accountability mean to you? When I ask people I get some very different responses. Some say “well I’m ultimately accountable for the business results” and some “I’m not accountable to anyone, as I’m the business owner”
So where do you sit? Do you sometimes find that you don’t do the things you know will drive your business forward? Especially when times are good. It can also be difficult, almost paralysing, when you know you NEED to do something because times are tough.
Its all very well having a “can do” attitude as a business owner but equally important is a “will do” attitude.
Put simply everyone needs someone to hold them to account. To ensure they do the things they know deep down they need to do.
My top 4 tips to help
- Make the end goal personally motivating so you feel a real desire and motivation to achieve the result.
- Share your goals with others so they know what you have promised you will do.
- Make the goals bigger than just you so that failure is not an option
- Get someone to hold you to account!
