Do you know the 3 critical factors for business success?

There are 3 super important strategies, that if you don’t have sorted and refined in your business you are hindering your road to success.

If you lack clarity in your vision, you severely limit your chances of growing your business. If you lack clarity, how will you know who your target market is? If you haven’t identified your ideal client, how can you tailor your message to them? What does success look like to you? Lack of clarity with your vision will see you spinning your wheels, trying countless ideas and strategies aimlessly drifting from one day to the next.

I work with a Business Owner who has masses of experience in her field, she is incredibly skilled at what she does. However, she came to me because she isn’t making enough money to survive in her business, and she cannot understand why some days she has barely anything to do and other weeks she is overwhelmed and cannot cope. It soon became clear she has no plans, people recommend her as she is super proficient at what she does, but she struggles to follow through. She has no goals, little structure to her business day and she lacks discipline and focus to do the ‘boring stuff’.

Which brings me to Focus. Focus is the second must have strategy, clarity of your vision (where you want to take your business) and focus are often linked. Business Owners I work with, frequently complain of lacking day to day focus, when questioned, I find out they have no clarity of Vision, so they are never quite sure what it is they should be focussing on.

Finally when you have nailed the above two, you can start to build your business week by week, month by month and year by year.  Systemise the processes, record your processes as if they were to be used by a martian coming into the business. In other words, make them so detailed and specific, your employees are able to work with them, and follow them without direction from you. So you are released to work on further aspects of growing your business. Do the work once and it can be replicated from there on.

You can only refine a system if a) you have one in the first place and b) its written down. As your business grows, your systems can be revisited, reflected upon and improved.  Eventually you will reach the glorious position of choice, a business that can work without you, the Owner, being present. You will also have created yourself an valuable asset that can be sold when the time is right. So remember THE 3 critical strategies are;

  1. Clarity of Vision
  2. Focus
  3. Systems

Have you nailed these in your business yet?
