There’s an old adage that “your people are your biggest asset that don’t appear on your balance sheet”. Whilst that is true what can you do to create your winning team and make sure they are a genuine asset and not a liability?
What really matters is do you have the right people in the right seats on your business vehicle and how do you know?
In my experience the answer from business owners I work with is often NO!
So how do you make sure you do…..?
I believe it starts with having a clear organisation strategy. When was the last time you took a look at your organisational structure?
Are their positional responsibilities clear……not just for your current team but for the team you want to develop and have in the future?
What systems do you have in place for recruitment, induction and ongoing appraisals?
How can you make sure you get the right people in place that will build your business? And once you get them how do you retain them?
So, many questions. One way to find the right people to join your organisation is to include physcometric testing as part of your recruitment process. You can also use it to optimise current staff members.
You can benefit from psychometric testing as a key tool for assessment to:
- Improve hiring and selection
- The right person in the right role is priceless
- Increasing sales
- Teach your team powerful behaviour profiling skills
- Empower them to identify, to your organisations advantage, observable behaviours, then they can adapt their selling style to fit the customers buying style
- Improving customer service
- Know in advance that your people believe in your organisation and will care about your customers
- Better equip and train your customer support team
- Increasing productivity
- Identify the strengths and shortcomings of each employee
- Create action plans from the assessment data to maximise you’re organisations talent
- Reducing employee turnover
- Ensure the best possible job fit for each new hire
- Optimise current team members
- Create a balanced team
- Customising employee training
- One size fits one, not all
- Learn how each person learns and get them back to productivity sooner
- Model team building
- Know who fits with whom in advance
- Create your team based on compatible skills an traits not on just generic ideas of balance
- Top level teams are comprised of behaviourally compatible members with an optimal array of complimentary proficiencies
I use psychometric testing with many of my clients to optimise themselves, the business owner, as well as their teams.
For the business owner, these assessment tools greatly enhance Leadership and management skills for example. For team members the benefits are that they better understand themselves, how to better interact with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
It’s worth doing as it fundamentally increases your sales and margins, increases customer retention and reduces your cost of employment.
