Stephen Cooke has been an ActionCOACH franchise partner since November 2016

1. Who has had the greatest influence on your business and why?
Anita, my wife, from an emotional support point of view. For the opportunity… Ian Christelow and Julie Wagstaff, for self-discipline – Paula Wingate, for focus – Vic Ciuffetelli, for knowledge – James Vincent, for inspiration – Andy Goldberg, for Balance – Rachel Woods and for a strong purpose my children.

2. What is the most important characteristic an Action Coach must have and why?
Resilience. Learning to accept each challenge as a new opportunity to grow. Finding a better way and never standing still is part of it too for me.

3. What have you done/do you do to contribute to the shared ActionCOACH vision of World Abundance through Business Re-Education?
All of the clients I’ve worked with have achieved good commercial results. Paul Testa Architects has been a great journey. From start-up a year ago, we have tripled turnover and used the 5 ways to take his business to the point of greatness!

Walking into his office now and seeing 5 new employees when to begin with he was a sole trader gives me immense satisfaction. He’s also been happy to triple my fee, which is a nice bi-product of his success!

4. Of the 14 points of Culture which one most resonates with you and why?
Balance. I have not demonstrated this in the past year. Head down and hard graft has been my motto to date and now Balance has much more importance to me. This is possibly linked to achieving a certain level of income and experiencing more things, having more family time or travel has certainly become more important again. I certainly feel more authentic that’s for sure.

5. What’s been your toughest challenge in ActionCOACH and how did you break through it?
Conversion. Creating activity and getting in front of Business Owners has never been a problem for me but closing was a struggle. I learned the Diagnostic was not the real opportunity and that a good COD call was the main focus for improvement. Vic’s challenge to me once was “Are you Selling or are they Buying?” This had a profound impact on my mindset and I have been pushing forward on this ever since.

6. What’s been your proudest/most fulfilling moment in ActionCOACH?
Converting 3 prospects in one day – Super Thursday!

7. What’s your next big goal?
My goals are still short to medium term. I need to re-visit my Big Goals. Banking at £15k by end of August and £25k by December is what I have set my mind on achieving. I want to buy two new cars for the children at Christmas. My dream trip to Las Vegas, has already been booked and Anita and I can’t wait to go next month!
