Daniela Grendene has been an Action Coach franchise partner since April 2016

1. Who has had the greatest influence on your business and why?

Peter Boolkah has coached me to become a better coach, developing as a person, helping me through the identity shift, as well as how to use the AC toolbox in context with my clients. This has helped me very much with client’s retention (so far 100%) and building the business which is now growing. Being a better coach also helps me with the marketing and sales activities, as I feel like a coach not like a sales person, I don’t think CODs and DIAGs (although I use them in the process) when I meet people, I think about building relationships and understanding what the person needs and how can I help.

2.  What is the most important characteristic an Action coach must have and why?

You mean apart from determination and self-discipline? In my view one has to have the courage to look into one self and find that authenticity we often talk about (easier said than done), that as long as we are coaches we will be learning and that we have chosen to be in a self-effacing role, it’s not about us it’s about our clients’ journey.

3.  What have you done/do you do to contribute to our shared vision of World Abundance through Business Re-Education?

Well, I simply endevour to practice and apply it every day as I coach, from the time I prepare for each coaching session to being 100% present when I coach. I also apply that every time I speak to someone and also when I present at a seminar/workshop. In addition, I have also been coaching the CEO of a charity organisation in Scotland, embracing the Coaching for a Cause initiative and I am really learning a lot from that.

4.  Of the 14 points of Culture which one most resonates with you and why?

For me it is Ownership, being truly responsible for my actions and outcomes. I learned from Vic that it is easier to be responsible and accountable for actions than outcomes, I had never realised that before; but I do know that for things to change I must change first, I have certainly taken ownership of that in the business.

5.  What’s been your toughest challenge in ActionCOACH and how did you break through it?

I surely was unconsciously incompetent when I decided to become part of ActionCOACH and when I became very conscious of my incompetence, I realised that there was “a lot of stuff” I needed to get rid of to build the business; some stuff I cannot change but I have learned how to manage that better. Taking time to do that last year was important and, although it meant taking the foot off the accelerator for a while, it has made me so much stronger and confident, I am happy with the way the business is growing steadily now.

6.  What’s been your proudest/most fulfilling moment in ActionCOACH?

For me it is every time that my clients have a breakthrough, a win, have made a progress or have moved a step further. Whenever they have results and they feel that I helped them to get there, I am fulfilled. I am proud though that they all came to the Business Excellence Forum & Awards this year and plan to book for next year, I will be very proud when some of them will be on that stage winning a Business Excellence Award.

7. What’s your next big goal?

It’s personal: cutting my golf handicap down to 15 ha ha!
