As a business coach I often find I need to help move my clients into a different mind-set regarding their tolerance levels.

This applies to both their internal team as well as “external suppliers”.

In order to judge whether your tolerance levels are appropriate, look to the results you’re getting in your business.

If the business is not performing you’re too tolerant. Tolerant of poor standards, lack of monitoring, lack of business disciplines in place, no sense of timelines, no plan, no sense of vision and mission.

A big one is NO established culture in the business.

Most times you, as the business owner, need to change how you and the business works.

What I mean by this is you need to re stablish how you operate. What is “non-negotiable”?

Putting in place some basics as a starter will help; for example:

Create a culture of Ownership, Accountability and responsibility in you and the team

Set Goals

Set the right Strategies to achieve the Goals

Set the right Action timelines to achieve against each strategy

Defining your team members Roles and responsibilities—better sill get them to set their own!

Set Individual and company Key performance indicators and MEASURE their performance and impact on your business

Schedule relevant follow up meetings, not to “micro manage” but to progress what you’re trying to achieve as a business.
