Who has had the greatest influence on your business and why?
Couple of important people for very different reasons.  Firstly, my Dad, who has taught me everything I need to know first-hand about focus, positive thinking and how the mind is such a powerful thing. 11yrs ago he was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was given 6 months to live.  He’s had lots of treatment over the years but his positive mindset, determination of mind over matter and the attitude of focus on work and just keep things ‘normal’ has been incredible to see. He’s a real inspiration to me.

The other person who has had the greatest influence on me has been Rob Pickering (but don’t tell him that!). I’ve been working with Rob for 7yrs or more now, I started as his VA/Marketing Assistant in 2011 and from day 1, he’s made me a part of the business. He took me to all of the ActionCOACH Team Meetings and UK Conferences where I soaked up everything like a sponge. In 2015 I mentioned that maybe one day I could be a coach – and he never let me forget it.  So, it’s really him I have to thank for introducing me to the world of ActionCOACH – coaching me over the years and encouraging me to grow, learn and be the best me I can be.

What is the most important characteristic an Action coach must have and why?
Resilience. The ability to bounce back when things don’t quite go to plan. Don’t let it get you down – just think – ‘some will, some won’t, so what’ … and move on!

What have you done/do you do to contribute to our shared vision of World Abundance through Business Re-Education?
Not as much as I should, but I’m working on it.  I am, however, on the Board of Trustees for a fantastic local charity, Creating Better Futures. Our mission is to lift orphans and vulnerable children in Zimbabwe out of poverty by providing them with access to education and supporting them through projects focused on feeding, nutrition, clean water, hygiene and sanitation. It’s been great working with them and the other Trustees to grow the charity and raise its visibility. I’m planning on taking a trip out to Zimbabwe next year to help work on a project and meet the children we support.

Of the 14 points of Culture which one most resonates with you and why?
Fun. It’s important to enjoy every day and work with inspiring people that lift you up and make you a better person. I love what I do and I wouldn’t change it for the world. As you can imagine, it’s always good fun working with Rob and we have a great team too. We always celebrate the wins and Rob insists on ‘beer o’clock’ on a Friday – so we get the balance of fun right in our office. We have a beautiful office near the river so it’s especially good in the summer!

What’s been your toughest challenge in ActionCOACH and how did you break through it?
My toughest challenge was actually before I signed the paperwork to join ActionCOACH and book onto training. I had to do a lot of work on my own self-belief and confidence to take what felt like a big step forward and out of my comfort zone.  Special shout out to Jon Asquith who coached me through that time and then was an awesome coach to me in my first 6+ months out of training.

What’s been your proudest/most fulfilling moment in ActionCOACH?
Building a strong community of ActionCLUB clients across 3 groups has been absolutely wonderful to see grow and flourish over my first 12 months as a Coach. They are all achieving great things in their businesses and personal lives, employing staff, collaborating with each other, passing business and are raving fans of what we do. That makes me feel really proud.

What’s your next big goal?
Well I’m currently ranked #13 Employee Coach Globally (although #1 in Europe) … so I need to up my game and get that global top spot, of course!
