I’ve been in presentations where the speaker has put slide after slide of text up on display & then just read it to us!

I can do that myself thanks, & not be bored out of my skull.

As soon as a slide of text goes up on the screen, the audience switch off from what you’re saying & try their best to read all the text.

It’s a normal thing to do.

You shouldn’t really have more than 6 words on a powerpoint slide.

Use pictures. Diagrams. One liners.

Something that can be easily glanced at.

Keep your audience engaged by your tone of voice, your enthusiasm & your animation.

Use the flip charts.

Write on the wipe-on/wipe-off boards.

Move around.
