And that is really only half the question – the other half being “what action will you take to get there”?

I find that business owners fluctuate widely between the two – they can be hot on what they want (£squillions, growth, fame – yes, I find that many owners want recognition), or very intense in the activity they do, but lose track of why they are doing it. I have come to the conclusion that there is a 3rd element to the opening question – “what learning are you doing to get what you want and to do the appropriate action to get there”.

After 7 years supporting businesses to grow, I think it is the learning that makes the difference. Finding out about new stuff or re-learning things so that focus and effort can be properly balanced and targeted.

That is why I am continuing to run ActionCLUB, which is a programme over 3 months to help owners learn, plan and take action to get to where they want to be.
