Know your self worth

Your Value – Can it be Diminished?

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a new, crisp, clean £20.00 note

To the room of 200, he asked, “Who among you would like this £20.00?”

Hands started shooting up and waving.

He then said, “I’m going to give this £20 to one of you, but first, let me do this.”

He crumpled the £20 note into a small, tight ball.

Then he asked, “Who still wants the bill?”

Still the hands were up, waving even more excitedly.

“Well,” he replied, “what if I do this?” and he dropped it to the floor and ground it into the carpet with the heel of his shoe.

Then he picked it up, crumpled and dirty, and asked, “Now who still wants it?”

Still hands waved, with a few excited souls some standing to be more obvious, some shouting “Me, me, I would.”

“My friends, you’ve all learned a very valuable lesson. You see, no matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it hadn’t decreased in value, simply because of all the abuse I gave it. You all knew it was still worth £20.”

“Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by people we deal with, the decisions we make, and the circumstances that come our way. So often, we feel as though we’re worthless.”

But it’s important to remember that no matter what has happened or will happen, you’ll never lose your value. To those who love you, you are priceless.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do, or who we know, but by who we are, or who we’re becoming.

Always remember, “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” – .. Oscar Wilde
